Allen Barber (1939 - 1994) was born in Philadelphia, PA and received his BFA from the Tyler School of Fine Arts. His extensive career ranged from international and domestic exhibitions in Peru, Amsterdam and Portugal to Philadelphia, Michigan and New York. His passion for teaching led him to be chosen as an instructor at both the Brooklyn Museum Art School and Parsons Fine Arts. Barber created an extensive body of work that touches on the political, social and humorous aspects of the world we live in. Working across varied media; painting, drawings, prints and sculpture, Allen’s unique perspective and engaging imagery sets his work apart while inviting the viewer into Barber’s world.
